2013 looks promising.

After a long 2012 of trying to get more people in my gaming group to play Warmachine/Hordes I'm finally beginning to see progress. I have four people playing regularly now and another two who own starter armies and are excited to learn how to play over the next few weeks. With only six players our meta isn't very diverse yet but we'll get there eventually. Currently we have all four Hordes factions represented but only Khador and Cryx on the Warmachine side of things. I'd like that to even out a bit in the coming year but I'm not in control of that. Besides, monsters are way cooler than robots. I nearly had a pretty big SNAFU recently though.

Not long ago one of my new players asked me about Circle Orboros. After a few discussions with me about the game he had decided to order the Circle battlebox. I had to mention that Circle was in the new two-player starter kit and that if he could find someone to split that with he would be getting an even better deal than just buying the battlebox. Given that he was planning on waiting until the holidays to make his order he decided to hold off a bit.

A month or so passed and he told me he had to money to split the two-player kit but he hadn't been able to find someone to go in on one with him. Not wanting to lose the chance at adding another player and faction to our meta I told him I'd split it with him since I already play Legion. It wasn't a difficult decision to make really, I didn't own pLylyth or Warpsears and another plastic heavy is never a bad thing. So, with cash in hand I made the order.

The models arrived on the day our group meets but not until after I had left the house to go play a few games that day. Imagine my disbelief when I got home from gaming and found a package at my door. Missed it by THAT much. No worries though. He'd have his models next week.

A week goes by and it's time for another Saturday of gaming. I slept in a bit later than I wanted to so I was in a bit of a hurry to get out the door. I grabbed my stuff as well as the bags that contained the Orboros portion of the starter. When I arrived at our LGS I handed over the models to my newest player. Awesome. Half an hour or so later he comes up to me and asks where his warlock was. I grabbed the bag that contained the Skinwalkers and looked it over. Not there. He also asked where the Argus' were. Then it hit me. There were three bags of Circle models and I had only handed him two. SON OF A BITCH! I asked him how long he was going to be around and told him that I'd make a run back to my house and correct my mistake.

I played a battle box game against our local Cryx player and had plenty of time to go home, retrieve the missing Circle models and come back. When I get home I looked where I had placed the bags of Orboros. Not there. Crap. So my search began. I retraced my steps from the morning and I could not locate the missing bag. Frustration setting in I returned to my room and rifled through my bookshelf, nothing. Not good. I looked next to the bookshelf, not there. I checked my trash can, maybe they fell off the shelf and into the garbage. Trash can empty, really not good since trash day was the day before. I kept looking, I had checked everywhere that I could think of. I was beginning to think I'd have to replace these models and then I heard it. CHING! That familiar sound of a bag of plastic hitting the ground. I turned around and there it was, lying between my trash can and bookshelf. It had fallen off the top of the shelf and onto an old black folder. Sweet relief.

Victorious, I had returned to my LGS to hand over that last bag of models.

Sorry that took so long. Now check out these models.
